Early Life and Background 

Dr. Erica Chang was born in Taiwan and raised in Canada —an upbringing that granted her a unique perspective and taught her to adapt and thrive in diverse environments. She leverages this life experience to provide innovative and personalized patient-centered dental care, ensuring that each patient receives the highest quality treatment with a focus on long-term health. 

Dental Education 

Determined to pursue a career in dentistry, Dr. Chang relocated to the United States to study at the prestigious Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Known for its rigorous clinical training and highly competitive admissions—with an acceptance rate around 2.1% and incoming students averaging Dental Admissions Test (DAT) scores in the 90th percentile—Case Western Reserve consistently ranks among the nation’s top dental schools. During her studies, Dr. Chang distinguished herself by earning both the Dean’s Award and the coveted Joseph D. Gage Award, an honor presented annually to a select graduate who exemplifies the highest standards of professional competence and humanitarian ideals in general dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2016. 

Advanced Training and Professional Journey 

After dental school, Dr. Chang completed further training with a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), focusing on areas such as full-mouth reconstruction and dental implant treatments. She has been a trusted dentist in Austin for many years, providing excellent, personalized dental care to her community. Driven by her desire to offer the very best in dental treatment, she established Spring Dental in Round Rock, Texas—a private practice devoted to empowering patients through education, prevention, and thoughtful, individualized care. 

Dr. Erica Chang is an active member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Her involvement in these associations underscores her dedication to staying abreast of the latest advancements in dental care and adhering to the highest standards of practice.
